We need water to survive, but drinking enough to get by isn’t ideal for your body. Water is required to cushion and lubricate your joints, protect your brain and other internal tissues, regulate your body temperature, and remove waste from your body through urination, bowel movements, and perspiration.
How much to drink? You might need to modify your total fluid intake based on main factors such as:
Exercise: If you do any activity that makes you sweat, you need to drink extra water to cover the fluid loss. It's important to drink water before, during and after a workout.
Environment: Hot or humid weather can make you sweat and requires additional fluid intake.
Be sure to always carry a bottle of water when going from one place to another. You may also use some kind of reminder to help drink you drink your water every hour or so!
