How do you center yourself when you lose focus⁉️⠀
I get lost in the sauce (life) sometimes and have to refocus myself. When this happens I rely on the solid foundation I’ve established through my relationship with God.⠀
Having this foundation allows me the room to learn from my mistakes and grow from them. ⠀
Today I encourage you to develop a foundation for yourself. I don’t know 🤷🏻♂️ what that looks like for you but, I do encourage it. ⠀

Not the best day, I chipped my tooth at lunch and found out my dentist isn’t on my insurance plan😕 I easily could have came home, sat on the couch dwelling, but I put on my workout clothes, drank some liquid gold and #shaunt and I did a workout! #inyourfacebadday

This is great news if you usually like to reach for high-calorie sports drinks for an electrolyte boost. The added water and electrolytes of chia seeds work to slow digestion and reduce sugar cravings. Can I get an amen?!
3. Chia seeds promote weight loss: The zinc that chia seeds contain increases the production of leptin, a key hormone for reducing appetite and regulating energy levels. Leptin also improves stamina and endurance so that you are at your best during a workout.
MORNING SUNSHINE CHIA SEED SMOOTHIE
2 cups spinach
1 cup water (or coconut water)
2 oranges, peeled
1 cup pineapple
2 tbsp chia seeds
1. Blend spinach, water, and oranges together until smooth.
2. Add remaining ingredients and blend again. Enjoy!
Tiny reality shifting hack. When you stop saying "they" and you start saying "we" when you refer to the imaginary group running the show.
Eg. They/we developed new technology that detects cancer way earlier.
But also for negative things too. Take responsibility for the part you play.
Eg. They/we filled the ocean with plastic.
Over time your relationship with society will shift dramatically and you'll feel much more empowered which leads to contributing more, which provides a sense of fulfillment.
Guys I’m not gonna try and paint a pretty picture for you right now. .
I’m STRESSED right now. Like, beyond stressed, actually. I’ve been thinking about this day and the next 48 hours for months, and much as I’ve tried not to let this get me off track, it’s all coming to a head on the eve of our official move. The last night in our first home. There is still SO much to do despite the progress we’ve made. My house is in complete shambles. Disarray and lack of organization are two of my biggest triggers.
Trying to keep a major anxiety attack at bay right now, but it’s not easy. Because as much as I would love to have control over it, I don’t always. .
Working out has been a tremendous outlet for me to deal with the stress in my life, which I’ve had A LOT of in the last year. But working out in this environment isn’t going to serve me or make things better; in fact, it will probably make things worse.
So for right now I’ve lit a candle and started playing my favorite comedy station on Pandora while I fold laundry. Later, I’m taking my workout with me to our fresh, clean home before it turns into a shit show, too. .
Days like this I’m beyond grateful for the ability to take my workouts pretty much anywhere, grateful for my girls to encourage me and lift me up, and grateful for my husband helping me get through it. .
I know I’m normally a very positive person, but I also don’t want to give the impression that I don’t have my moments like everyone else. It’s because I try to remain positive that I know I’m going to get through this. I’m gonna take a deep breath, get my shit together, and rise above. .
I WILL get through this. And YOU will get through whatever struggles you may be personally experiencing right now, too. #teamaspireforhigher .

Foam roller for the WIN! I was excited, yet not so thrilled about foam rolling all the kinks out yesterday. It’s a beautiful thing that helps with soreness and stiffness, but when you roll right over that attention needing spot...OUCH!! 😲😖 .

Blueberry Thyme Dream Cake! by the awesome Virpi @vanelja
Blueberry Raw Cake 🌿
100 g / 3,5 oz dried, soft apricots
1 cup pecan nuts
pinch of sea salt 🌿
2 cups cashew nuts (soaked for 30 minutes & rinsed)
1 ripe banana
¼ cup coconut oil, melted
5-6 tbsp raw organic honey or maple syrup
¼ cup oat milk or almond milk, if needed
1 tsp vanilla extract
½ cup blueberries
handful of fresh thyme leaves 🌿
fresh thyme 🌿
Pan diameter: 18 cm / 7 inches 🌿
Place a piece of parchment paper in the bottom of a cake pan. Place all the base ingredients into a food processor or a high-speed blender and blend until moldable dough. Press the dough firmly into the bottom of the cake pan. Prepare the filling. Place all the filling ingredients (except blueberries and thyme) into the food processor / blender and blend until smooth. Add some dairy free milk, if needed, to get a smooth texture, still keeping it as thick as possible. Pour about ⅓ of the mixture into the cake pan and smooth out the surface. Add blueberries and thyme to the food processor / blender and blend with the remaining mixture. Taste and add some of the spices, if needed. Spoon the filling into the cake pan and even the surface gently with a spoon so that you don’t mix the white and the purple filling. Top with blueberries. Place the cake pan into the freezer for about 2-3 hours or until the cake is solid. Remove the cake from the pan and place it on a serving dish. Sprinkle on some thyme leaves, serve and enjoy. Store in a fridge.
