Pretty happy today. Got to mount some tires on steelies that have been in my room for awhile. Put them on the Lexus because I got a flat tire on the freeway yesterday. Plus I wanted Those ugly chrome wheels off the car lol. Then I aligned the car myself and everything is mint now! Stoked to be able to put my skills learned from Toyota to work on my own cars today! #sc400#sc300#soarer#toyota#lexus#wheels#tires#alignment#trd#jdm
Tonight I cleaned and coated my other set of wheels, so that I can get them put back on the car. I started by spraying down the front and back of the wheel with Gyeon Iron. After letting it sit on the surface for a few minutes, I used the EZ Detail brush and some Adams shampoo to agitate and remove the dirt from the surface. A thorough rinse was needed to carry away the dirt. To remove the remaining stuck-on contamination, I used ONR and a claybar on the inside of the wheel. A final wipedown with Optimum Paint Prep ensured removal of any remaining product. Next, I carefully applied Gyeon Rim to the entire wheel and buffed off excess afterwards. After one hour, I applied a second coat of Rim to ensure greater protection. Once it cures for 24 hours, the wheels will be ready to be put back on the car.
