HeartBreaker was a song that happened somewhere in between my apartment and the train station. It began as a song of fierce sexuality and independence (I wonder what kind of sassy walk was happening at this point). But when I got home and settled down with my notepad to finish it, I found myself telling a story of pain, loss and insecurity. I think the songs that come most naturally to me play with aggression and vulnerability... but it usually starts with one and the other just creeps in. I love seeing Dom capture these emotional highs and lows in the production... We wanted this song to feel a bit gritty and filthy, we're just hoping it can give you the feels AND the grinds. 😝🖤 .

Modestep - Higher (The Remixes)
I LOVED Higher, so I was so excited to hear some other renditions of it when I heard this was being released. I was disappointed it didnt get an upload to the channel, but Im still glad it got an EP release at all, heres my review of the new Higher official remixes.
Track 1: Modestep - Higher (Oliverse remix)
Genre: Melodic Dubstep
Very interesting remix here. The intro and parts of the off drop go for a dance vibe with the vocals, then try out DnB briefly, before going into a drop that mixes Brostep and Melodic Dubstep, something I can say Ive rarely seen. Over all, I dont love the bass in the drop, which unfortunately is so overpowering compared to the sounds that it puts me off this song. I can see how others would love this song, but its not really my cup of tea.
Track 2: Modestep - Higher (Champion remix)
Genre: Drum & Bass
Now this is a remix I can get behind. Honestly, the intro and off drop are pretty generic, but the strings make them really cool. The drop doesnt do a lot special either, especially the beat. But that lead is heavenly when combined with the melody, and thus is the entire reason I love this song so much. Really good remix here.
My only serious complaint with these this EP (besides the fact that its only 2 songs and got no upload) is that I wish theyd done something more with the vocals, like vocal chops or distortion for example. Other than that, theyre both very fun and make a good remix package, getting a nice 7/10 from me. Good job to both these artists.
(PS. Soon I might review some other Higher remixes that didnt get uploads)
