Yesterday - After a 6 hour flight with no internet and another 1.5 hour flight from Oakland to Ontario California, I had to take a 50 minute Super Shuttle ride from the airport to my hotel in Anaheim. During the last 20 minutes of my ride, I learned quite a bit about my driver. It costs him $250 a day to rent the van. Which means he will be in his van for 24 hours at a time and he does this two times a week. Super Shuttle takes 25% on all his fair. Plus he has to pay for all his gas throughout the day. He said he has to make $400 for that day before he starts making any money. He was also an accountant back in Egypt before he and his family (2 kids) moved to the US about 3 years ago. I was curious as to why he would move his family from a good paying job in Egypt to here in California driving Super Shuttle to make extra money. He took a pause and said that he is a Christian and it has become so dangerous for all Christians in Egypt that he had to move his family here. At one point, he said over 30+ churches was burned within 2 month's time. So my long day wasn't so bad after all. Now I'm going to get ready and learn from the best of the best in real estate and hope to help someone like my driver buy a house here in the United States of America. 🇺🇸🗽🌎
PS - My driver also sells jewelry in his van.
