Thousand mile stare or 5 mile stare are all the same in the end. It’s all matter of scale. Love tricking my dude to do recovery rides with me pretending they are super rainy blow out adventures. Despite that look I’d say mission accomplished #adventuretime#cycling
Keep warm on cold mornings by riding hard enough to cough for hours afterwards. (I think I inhaled a lot of dirt dust. I’ll be okay.) I have a lot of catching up to do to get back into shape. I’ve been slacking since November. #cycling#outsideisfree#morningworkout
I honestly don’t know where to start with explaining this race, so I’m just going to try and dive in. You guys, I’ve been so emotional. Like I worked so so hard for this and this is why I do this. This is what makes sense to my soul. Let me get real with you. In the last couple weeks, I’ve been battling an injury. I “lost” out on at least 50 running miles. Isn’t that insane? I stayed on top of everything I could control with recovery and fitness and did my best to just stay positive. But if you’ve ever been worried about an injury before a race, you know how insanely mentally hard that is!! I trusted my plan though and I trust my coach more than anyone. Here’s where it insanely applies to my life. I had a realization that this is God’s plan for me. I KNEW that if I focused on everything I could control, everything would work out on race day. Just like it does in my life. In life, we hit bumps and injuries and things outside of our control, but as I’ve had to do things as a single mom I wouldn’t have wanted and have had to focus in on what I can control, the things that really matter in life always work out and shine through and God provides a way. My heart is exploding!! My coach came to our race and it was so fun seeing her and being on the same bus as all my triathlon heroes! Up at 3:30 am and the race started at 6am. I went off with the 2:25 group and stuck to my plan. I was to keep the first half comfortable. That’s exactly what I did! I listened to my body and breathing and sang to my music and just let my body go! 13 miles came in no time and I was crying from the start. Because holy cow... what a transformation year it has been and I was so incredibly grateful to be here! At 13 miles, I wanted to pick up the pace a bit, but not go too hard. I did just that! I never once doubted my ability and that is something I’ve never experienced in a race! I hit this mental strength that is so unreal to explain! I just felt in control. I ate everything I planned, didn’t slow down through aid stations, didn’t stress if I dropped a water, and knew my cold hand would be just fine. I knew exactly what to tell myself the entire run. We all need to rest sometimes and that's exactly what I did today. On rest days we clean our bikes, right ? (at least think about them all the time... 😎)
I am going to spend some time in the kitchen as I am planning to transform it into a curry house....
Looking forward to have dinner with my friends 😍
Which nationality has the best kitchen, what do you think?
